    SUMMER CAMP AGES 5-8

    9:00-3:00pm $175.00/week

    Each Week Will Showcase and Focus on a Different Theme.

    Each week is concentrated on introducing kids to cultural dances, acting, musical theater, arts and crafts, as well as weekly showcase performances.

    Russian Ballet Orlando’s summer program is designed to introduce young dancers to the many aspects of the culture of the Performing Arts. Each week will consist of five days of fun, learning, and dance. Our camp are concentrated on building self-confidence, creative thinking, improvisation, collaboration, trust and discipline through the performing arts. Every day, students will participate in Ballet classes, a cultural history class, a music theory class, a themed dance class geared towards the week’s performance, and an arts and crafts class where students will be able to create aspects of the culture of which they are learning. The “End-of-the-Week” performance is open to families and friends that will showcase exactly what students learned throughout the week, culminating the entirety of their curriculum.

    THEME DESCRIPTIONS

    Week 1: Moana

    Our first week we welcome one of our new favorite disney princesse’s, Moana. With Maui by her side, be prepared for an adventure on a daring mission to throughout the ocean to save her people. Arts and Crafts will create beautiful scenery towards our end of the week showcase.

    Week 2 : Maleficent

    Get to know the good side of the evil. Learn the powers and magical spells of the one and only Maleficent. There is a good and caring side to everyone that is sometimes hiding behind thrones. Great team work and partnership throughout the entire week will be demonstrated. Watch us bring a new twist in our showcase featuring one of our favorite evil witches.

    Week 3: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

    Mirror Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all? Disney’s first fairytale classic comes to life this week and you are invited to join the Seven Dwarfs on their silly adventures. This fun week will include crafts, singing and of course dancing to our favorite tale, Snow White.

    Week 4 : Trolls

    Join Poppy, the optimistic leader of the Trolls Branch must embark on an adventure that takes them far beyond the only world they've ever known. This whole week will incorporate songs from the movie and a showcase which will be fun for the whole family to come and see.

    Week 5 : Cinderella

    Spend your week with the beloved Cinderella. Students will undergo royal treatment and waltz their way right into Cinderella’s magical ball, in hope to find their prince. Weekly showcase will incorporate all of their favorite sing-alongs and dances they’ve learned throughout the week.

    Week 6 : Beauty and the Beast

    Be Our Guest! Join Belle as she ventures into the Beast’s enchanted castle. Featured songs from the movie will be learned and showcase will bring the timeless classic to life.

    Week 7 : Under the Sea

    A complete hit last year, our seventh week of the summer program is all about the fascinating world under the sea and the movement within. Join Ariel, Sebastian and of course Flounder as they explore the Ocean! What they encounter and learn will be shown in our showcase of "The Little Mermaid."

    Week 8 : Aladdin

    Join Aladdin and Jasmine as they fly through the city of Agrabah. This week will be turned into a magical adventure where genies come to life! Just be sure to use those three wishes wisely as we take you into a “whole new world"

    We're off to see the Wizard!This week our student showcase will feature them singing and dancing down the yellow brick road. Dorothy and her friends will journey to the land of Oz and defeat the Wicked Witch and return to home sweet home. This is a week to not be missed!

    Week 5 : Cinderella

    PRIMARY INTENSIVE FOR AGES 9 - 10

    9:00-2:00pm | $200.00/week | Multiple weeks discount applies

    Russian Ballet Orlando offers a most exclusive and rewarding Summer Intensive. Under the supervision of Artistic Director, Katerina Fedotova, this Russian Ballet program offers the concentration towards classical Vaganova ballet method & technique for each individual student. Class size will be limited for maximum attention. Dancers train five days per week, with world renown Russian and classically trained teachers, who will prepare students for proper foundation in Classical ballet.

    Every class is concentrated of their form, body placement, turn out and flexibility. Technique and Pre-Pointe (Pointe) is a part of daily classes, along with Esmeralda rehearsals. Roles will be casted after the first week of intensive. All students enjoy their hard work, that turns into fun by the end of the day and an amazing opportunity to be able to perform a full length ballet with a world renown principal dancer from Ukraine, in a production of Esmeralda. Opportunity that only Russian Ballet offers to young dancers. Experience that your child will remember forever.

    PREPARATORY INTENSIVE FOR AGES 11 - 14

    11:00-4:00pm | $250.00/week | Multiple weeks discount applies | Spots are limited.

    Russian Ballet Orlando offers a most exclusive and rewarding Summer Intensive. Under the supervision of Artistic Director, Katerina Fedotova, this Russian Ballet program offers the concentration towards classical Vaganova ballet method & technique for each individual student. Class size will be limited for maximum attention. Dancers train intensively five days per week, with world renown Russian and classically trained teachers, who will prepare students for a professional career in ballet industry.

    The Summer Intensive focuses on developing well-rounded dancers, educating them on obstacles that comes their way as they start getting into the professional world of dance. This will include:

    • Discussions on local, national and international ballet companies
    • Company auditions (what directors are looking for)
    • Difference between Classical and Contemporary companies

    SUMMER INTENSIVE FACULTY 2017

    • Vadim Fedotov (Principal Dancer, National Theater of Ukraine)
    • Irina Depler (Principal Dancer, National Theater of Ukraine)

    We focus on introducing young dancers to proper ballet foundation, concentrate of their form, body placement and turn out. Technique and Pointe is a part of daily classes, along with Esmeralda rehearsal. Roles will be casted after the first week of intensive. Russian Ballet Orlando will prepare Full production of Esmeralda as the end of the Summer Showcase.

    Throughout the day, dancers will receive:

    • Variations
    • Pilates
    • Stretch and Conditioning
    • Character/Flamenco classes
    • Esmeralda Rehearsals

    Audition Deadline: June 12th

    Scholarship Application Deadline: June 12th (Must be accompanied by Video Audition)

    Registration Deadline: June 19th

    Audition Requirements:

    The audition submission should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre and center. The student must include plies, tendues, (from fifth position) ronde de jambe, and adagio, and balances on one leg. The exercises can be short, but with enough repetition that the dancer can be seen clearly. This section does not need to be more than 6 minutes in length.

    PRE-PROFESSIONAL INTENSIVE FOR AGES 15-20

    11:00-5:00pm | $350.00/week | Multiple weeks discount applies | Spots are limited.

Class size will be limited for maximum attention. Dancers train intensively five days per week, with world renown Russian and classically trained teachers, who will prepare students for a professional career in ballet industry.

    • Company auditions (what directors are looking for)
    • Difference between Classical and Contemporary companies
    • How to choose the right company?
    • Introduction to work overseas (Europe, Asia)

    SUMMER INTENSIVE FACULTY 2017

    During the first week of the intensive Esmeralda roles will be casted by the directors. The chosen ones to perform soloist and principal roles will receive private daily coaching from world renown staff. Russian Ballet Orlando will prepare Full production of Esmeralda as the end of the Summer Showcase.

    • Pointe
    • Variations
    • Pas-de-deux (partnering class)
    • Pilates
    • Stretch and Conditioning
    • Private lessons
    • Esmeralda Rehearsals

    Audition Deadline: April 1st

    Scholarship Application Deadline: April 1st (Must be accompanied by Video Audition)
