RBO’s Hittin’ the Road, and We’re Not Alone!
Road Trip! This is not your average road trip, RBO is staging Carmen, with musical help from Opera Orlando. Opera Orlando, will be singing the lead songs while our RBO company dancers are on stage. I get excited when the ballet has a live orchestra, but this is something that I have never experienced before, and I can’t wait! This live performance has a Grammy Award winner! No, not Taylor Swift, featuring Gabriel Preisser!
What do you know about Carmen? Well, it’s not your average ballet! There is a love-triangle that ultimately costs a life, you can Google who’s, I won’t give it away! Trust me, it has more drama than any reality show you could binge watch, oh, and I already mentioned, LIVE MUSIC!
The theatre tour is one that can’t be missed. It is almost worth it to see every performance just to see the theatres. These are not your average performance centers. Every stop on the Carmen tour is going to be at a historic site that looks like it’s right out of a Disney movie.
I remember the first time I saw a ballet in a historic theatre with live music, and professional dancers. It was in the 90’s (eek!), and Houston Ballet was touring Giselle, and they had a stop in Tampa. I begged, and begged my parents to take me. They finally gave in, and my Dad, Mom, and me went to the historic Tampa Theatre. It was magical! The smells of the old building coupled with a live orchestra and professional dancers, it was something I will never forget!
Also, grab a VIP ticket and you could stick around and chat, and take pictures with the principle dancers! I’m sure that Don José is nicer in photos, don’t worry!
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of sitting around, doing nothing, watching reruns of The Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker on Amazon prime! Let’s gather together, safely, and experience the drama and the passion, of Carmen.
Don’t miss these one-of-a-kind performances, I’ll see you there!
