Character Spotlight: Swanhilda.

Our pre-professional student, Jeanna, will be playing the principal role of Swanhilda in our coming production of Coppélia. She says, “I’m looking forward to playing such a confident but playful character, who has such beautiful variations and choreography.” The beauty of this role is seen in part by the great amount of storytelling technique required, partnered with the endurance needed for all the stage time this character has.

This picture shows Jeanna working hard in rehearsals! We are so excited to see her dance this role on October 10th, are you?

Now check out this variation from Coppélia! This is an excerpt from Act 1 in a performance by Pacific Northwest Ballet. Watch now!
